Comments: You could feel the drum's vibrations in the Stadium, as Tom opened with a very spiritual rendition of O CANADA.....Listening to the remarks around me, it was all positive. Very moving, I was sitting in the family section and hearing the kids relate to he is in the t.v. world, and his mission to help combat the hunger with children in the schools etc. was warming. I last saw him in High River, Rockin on the Rails, wonderful....(humm is he still married?) My sister . wants to know..(you know the story)..just jokin'..He walks gentle, and speaks to be listened to...Where is he heading next???

Comments: Well I guess everybody has a price and The dept of indian Affiars met Tom's price. That sell-out, in my opinion, is currently working to create a Canada Day celebration using bought and paid for native performers who will be dancing traditional to O Canada and will also be singing a new song in honnour of Robert Nault, the Minister of Indian Affiars (Canada)who is following canadian colonialism techniques by trying to sell an image that Native people in Canada embrace his current initiative to do away with our rights. It's called the Modern Governance Act and Nault is introducing it in the House of Commons Today in Ottawa. The Indian Affiars Dept. knew who they could buy and it was "Uncle Tom" Excuse me cause I have to go barf now. Ona from The Grand River Territory.

White Fire Reed is all Native Rock/Alternative Band that is a Duo from the Couchiching First Nation in Fort Frances,ON. Gary Johnston-Lead Vocals,Guitar, and Keyboards. Mike Johnston-Lead Guitar We are Independent and currently we not signed to a Major Label. We both take part in the writing process and music and write and compose our music. We are Performers of the Canadian Aboriginal Festival in Toronto,ON at the SkyDome that takes place every year. Our First Performance was in 1998 at the festival and returned in 1999 as a Main Stage Act. Recently, we performed in 2001 at the Festival again, this time, as an All Acoustic Performance. It was a thrilling experience to have such a famous singer, actor, songwriter, and narator that has come a great distance to inspire many of our people in the village of Kitkatla, which is located on the southwest coast of Prince Rupert. Your kind contribution has had a great impact in the community, especially for my students that are up coming artists. They appreciated what you had to share about your life experiences and how you paved the way for others to give back what they have to their community. You came with a gratiful heart of compassion and warm thoughts and we thank you. It was a pleasure to have met you personally and a great honour to have met you. On a personal level as a native artist,dancer, singer, drummer, designer, painter, tool-maker, totem-pole makerer, and a traditional Tshimshian artist and teacher. I would to appoligize for not responding sooner but better late than not at all. We spoke very briefly about my current situation and you asked about my portfolio and you did not get a chance to see it, although if the interest is still there I would love to take the time to meet with you or send you some of my personal favorites. I take pride in my work by doing it traditonally by hand. I believe that the art is already their (in the wood), I am only taking away what is not needed.

Comments: I am a great fan and have been for more years than I can count. My first memory is seeing Tom with his band playing in a Winnipeg lounge. We have been going to the Huron Carol for years but have been disappointed in recent years by the slick presentations and yearn for the days when there were surprise guests and that wonderful eclectic feel of different genres and artisits. Elizabeth had an aunt buried in a tree a short distance from her house. Her mother shot at some cowboys that were messing with her grave. A few years ago, the tree died, and now has fallen down. I miss it as I drive along I-90 past Bridger Creek.

I have been checking the www.tomali.com site weekly for the last two months.... anxiously awaiting a date for Toronto/Hamilton show.

Nothing yet, and doesn't look like it will be added.

I read in the 'news' of this site that rumours are it will not be making any Ontario stops.

I just want to say how disappointed I am to hear that.

Having lived 8 hours north of Toronto, it was always too far to travel and we had to watch the show on tv.

But now, I live 30 minutes from Hamilton.

Last year, I took my mom to the show, as a Christmas Gift...

I would really like the see the show come to Ontario......

Just wanted to say Hi. I really enjoy the show North of 60 other than that I don't watch to much T.V.

I have seen you once and that was in Eagle Lake, Ontario. It was at their annual Pow-wow. And I even got to shake your hand but there were so many people there. I just don't know how you can handle all the showbiz stuff, it must be hard at times.It's nice to see Native people on T.V. You are a real good role model for the kids of today's generation. Comments: Tom Jackson's new CD, "I Will Bring You Near", is a treat from start to finish. His voice has never sounded better and the band is in fine form. His remix of the old classic "Sixteen Tons" is a real delight. "Something 'bout You" has a big band ballad feel and is my personal favorite (today, yesterday it was the haunting "Love Don't Live Here"). The new lyrics to"Sometimes I Just Keep It To Myself" were a pleasant surprise. This album is upbeat and has some good old rowdy songs ("Done Like Dinner" and "Tumble in the Weeds") mixed with the poignant "Shoebox". I highly recommend "I Will Bring You Near" to all TJ fans and anyone else looking for some great music.

Comments: Thank you for the wonderful performance on Friday. I had such an awesome day. I am very glad that your sponsors see the need for your message to be taken across the country. One extraordinary thing this event did for our community was to break down so many barriers. This was one event that the municipality and reserve worked together. Because our communities are so close and our children grow up with the children in town, everyone is affected by traumatic events in the community. I really believe that hosting this concert and workshop has opened the eyes of many to the realization that we can no longer work at prevention or intervention in isolation.

My little horseshoeing truck was stolen by a kid who I think suffers from F.A.S. I did read that Thomas King (Medicine River; Truth and Bright Water; eps. of LonghouseTales, among his many works) worked on the screenplay, so that's great news. As for you getting to see it, you just never know -- North of 60 airs in numerous countries. Let's hope Warriors receives equally wide distribution!
